FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS:
Why is my RAP for episodes ending in 2010 showing an incorrect amount?
Why is my Financial Summary for episodes ending in 2010 showing an incorrect reimbursement amount?
Can I still submit the claims even if it's an incorrect amount?
WHAT THIS MEANS TO YOU:
As some of you may have already experienced, there are few episodes that began on or after November 3, 2009 which generated a zero dollar amount on the claims. This is because the claims end on or after January 1, 2010.
On October 30, 2009, CMS posted a notice announcing the CY 2010 National Standardized 60-Day Episode Payment for the Home Health Prospective Payment System. Included in the notice is an announcement of the 2010 home health market basket update of 2.0%. Unfortunately, CMS will continue its current policy of a 2.75% reduction to National Standardized 60-day episode payment rates and non-med supply factors in CY 2010.
This final rule is published in the Federal Register on November 10, 2009 and will take effect on January 1, 2010. The rule is located here.
